Real Inspiration: Becky & Joe

Becky and Joe choose to have their wedding feature Maryland's best asset: the Chesapeake.  Kent Island, just an hour south of Baltimore, makes an amazing bay-side location for a wedding!

More specifically, they chose the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, MD, a venue surrounded by water.  The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club offers "a 'casually elegant' waterfront campus of ballrooms, ceremonial lawns, gardens, open air pavilions, rooftop decks and private beaches."  They also provide catering. Becky thought it was "the prefect spot with the Bay Bridge."

Their photographer, Larry Huffman did an amazing job capturing their waterfront ceremony.  Also, be sure to check out the shot (below) of the couple on a private beach- breath taking!

Becky and Joe drank wine during their ceremony.  Beck explains, "The significance of the wine during the ceremony was supposed to show unity, two different backgrounds (red and white) coming together to create a whole new life together (blush)."

Becky purchased her dress at The Columbia Bridal Boutique, which features bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, and mother of the occasion.  Becky chose the bridemaids dresses from David's Bridal.  She wanted a vendor with stores all over the county, considering her bridesmaids live near and far.  It was convenient for the girls to go to their local David's to try on dresses and get fitted.

Becky's beautiful sunflowers came from Blacked Eyed Susan in Gambrills, MD.

Becky and Joe served homemade beer at the reception.  Becky's father has been making beer since she was 3 years old and recalls many occasions helping him as a child.

Their cake, continuing the sunflower motif, was the work of  Sugar Bakers in Catonsville, MD.

During the reception, Joe continued a long standing tradition of his fraternity.  The entire frat creates a circle around the bride and sing "You've lost that loving feeling".

Another personal touch- they served wine from Nittany Mountain Winery near Penn State University. Both bride and groom attended the university and are "crazy about their wine."

Congratulations Becky & Joe!
